God Is Our True Environment

“He will spread his wings over you and keep you secure. His faithfulness is like a shield or a city wall.”
Psalm 91:4 (CEV)

A secure environment for a Christian is to be guarded on all sides and the Bible tells us that is what we have. “He keeps His eye on you as you come and go and always guards you” (Psalm 121:8 TLB). We are always surrounded by God’s presence. He is in us, around us, above us, beneath us, behind us and in front of us.

Psalm 139:5 (MSG) says “I look behind me and you are there, then up ahead and you’re there too, your reassuring presence coming and going.”

We have God on our right hand.
Isaiah 41:13 (NIV) says, “For I am the Lord your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear: I will help you.” “Because he is at my right hand I will not be shaken” Psalm 16:8 (NIV)

We have God on our left.
“When he works on the left hand, I cannot behold Him” (Job 23:9 NKJV). And II Corinthians 2:6 tells us that we have the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left.

We have God above us.
“How precious is your loving kindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of your wings” Psalm 36:7 (NKJV). “He shall cover you with his feathers and under his wings shalt thou trust” Psalm 91:4 (KJV).

We have God’s arms underneath us.
“The Eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms” Deuteronomy 33:27 (NKJV).

We have God’s Spirit within us.
“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the spirit of God dwells in you.” I Corinthians 3:16 (NKJV).

God is near us at all times. He is our true environment – what protection!

Thank you Father that no matter where we turn, you are always there guarding us.
