Lift Up Your Eyes

“When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
What is man that you are mindful of him?”
Psalm 8:3&4 (NIV)

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.”
Psalm 121:1 (KJV)

When we are in trouble we tend to look down and inward, when we should actually look upward to God. We could learn a lesson from the two men in jail:

Two men looked out a window,
From behind their prisons bars,
One morosely saw the mud,
The other saw the stars!

People can see things drastically differently depending upon their point of view.
We can choose to approach life with a negative perspective or we can choose to approach life with a positive perspective.
We can choose to observe the good or we can choose to observe the evil.
We can choose to look down or we can choose to look up.

How can we see the light ahead and the way forward if we don’t look up? When we acknowledge that with God all things are possible, as it tells us in Matthew 19:26, our problems are dimmed by His power.

Prayer
I lift my eyes and my prayers to you, Heavenly Father, seeking inspiration and wisdom to face the difficulties in my life. I pray that you will lead and guide me to apply your word to my every thought.
Amen
