Dependability

“I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.”
John 17:4 (NIV)

Dependability is a corner stone to any strong relationship.

In marriage it is a key factor to it’s success, each person needs to know that they can depend on the other to stand by them no matter what may happen in the future!

It also applies to every area of our life.  When we build dependability into our lives it enables us to build stronger relationships with others, we will be given more opportunities to serve them because they will know that they can depend on us!

Jesus Christ set us a fine example of dependability.  He came to earth to live a perfect life, and to die to pay the price of our sins.  The Father could depend on Jesus completely.  He knew that Jesus would do the work he came to do!

Jesus always made time to fellowship with His Father!  We all need to MAKE TIME for daily prayer, Bible study and meditation.  IT IS VERY IMPORTANT – for they enable us to draw close to God and to hear the direction of the Holy Spirit!  Galatians 5:16 (NKJV) says, “I say then: Walk in the Spirit and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”  To walk in the Spirit is to walk as Jesus walked–it affects all that we do for the rest of our lives!

We need to continually ask ourselves what would Jesus do in this situation?  When we accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ we receive the gift of eternal life.  It is not dependant on our performance! We then belong to Christ and are to take up our cross and follow Him!!  Matthew 10:38 tells us, “And he who does not take up his cross an follow after Me is not worthy of Me.”

We need not fear. We can have complete confidence in Jesus, for He IS THE WAY!!

Prayer
Father God we thank you that Jesus has paid the price for our sins and that we now belong to Him.
Amen
