The Plans Of Man

“In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.”
Proverbs 16:9 (NIV)

In the current age of Day Planners, Palm Pilots, iPhones and Microsoft Outlook, you would think living life on schedule would be a cinch!

Yet something still seems to be lacking.

The marketers of these products would have us believe if we only find the right organizational tool, our lives will be in perfect order.

Have you noticed that God’s plans don’t always fit into your Daytime?
Sometimes He surprises us.
Often He is doing something bigger than we could imagine.

Of course planning is a valuable tool, and should be used in fulfilling God’s direction for our lives. However there is a four-word factor that we should never forget in our planning.
These 4 words should be on the top of every page of our planner, and should jump out from our computer screen each time we open our calendar.

The words? “GOD IS IN CONTROL!”

Instead of starting your day with a prayer that says, “Lord here are all the things I need to do today. Will you help, guide and bless me?”
Instead, let’s pray today “Lord, I’m available! Help me use my day to honour you and do your will.”

Just wait and see how those annoying distractions turn into anointed directions!

 Prayer
Direct my steps, Lord, and anoint my direction, as I live my life focused on your way. I know that if we fail to plan, we plan to fail, but not my will but yours be done.
Amen
