How To Prosper With A Clear Conscience

“Money wrongly gotten will disappear bit by bit; money earned little by little will grow and grow.”
Proverbs 13:11 (CEV)

Yesterday we considered that there is nothing wrong with making a profit and that Jesus commended the man who made the highest return on his investment (Matthew 25:21). We looked at four WRONG ways to prosper. These are difficult times financially for all of us, and many of us are looking for ways to maximise our earning potential. What matters to God is not how much you make but how you make it. You can avoid a lot of pain if you’ll follow what the Bible says about prospering.

Here are four RIGHT ways to prosper:

1. HONEST, HARD WORK.
“Wealth from gambling quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows.” Proverbs 13:11 (LB) “Hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.” Proverbs 14:23

2. WISE SAVING AND INVESTING.
“The wise man saves for the future, but the foolish man spends whatever he gets.” Proverbs 21:5

3. PRAYING FOR GOD’S BLESSING.
“If you know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!” Matthew 7:11

4. GIVING BACK TO GOD AND TO OTHERS.
“Honour the Lord by giving Him the first part of all your income and He will fill your barns… to overflowing!” Proverbs 3:9-10 (LB)
“Be generous and you will be prosperous. Help others and you will be helped…” Proverbs 11:24-25 (GN)

If we follow the instructions and principles contained in God’s Word, we will LIVE LONG AND PROSPER–God’s way.

Prayer
Thank you for the prosperity we enjoy. Give us a heart of love and not greed so that we will prosper in righteousness. We pray that by diligent, honest work, wise handling of our blessings and Godly generosity, we can prosper and have abundance to share with others.
