Our God Is An Awesome God

“Thus saith the Lord, the heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool.”

Isaiah 66:1 (KJV) 

What is greater than God

More evil than the devil

The poor have it,

The rich need it, and

If you eat it you will die? 

As you think about this riddle, consider the awesome Creator of all. The Apostle Paul in Athens stood in the Areopagus and told the crowd gathered there about the God who made the world and everything in it; who gives to all life, breath and all things (Acts 17:22-33). And in Acts 17:28 (CEV), “He gives us the power to live, to move, and to be who we are.” 

Isaiah 40 (KJV verses 12, 15 and 22) contains these wonderful poetic verses:

“Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand,

And meted out heaven with the span,

And comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure,

And weighed the mountains in a scale, and the hills in a balance?

Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket,

And are counted as the small dust of the balance:

Behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.

It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth,

And the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers;

That stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain,

And spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in.” 

So what is greater than God

More evil than the devil

If you eat it you will die?

Awesome God, we worship you in humility, acknowledging as King David did, “What is man that thou art mindful of him?”!
