The Bible-A Love Letter To You

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”

1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

Several of the New Testament books in the bible are often called “the Letters”.  The Apostles Paul, James, Peter, John and Jude have all written letters recorded in the Bible. We also have the Letter to the Hebrews by an unknown author.

In reality the entire bible is a love letter from God to us. God is love (1 John 4:8, 16). We are His dearly loved children, for whom He cares. So He inspired selected individuals to write the various books of the bible to instruct, help and guide us in making right choices, choosing His way as opposed to the way of the world.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man (or woman) of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”  How often do you receive a love letter from someone? The next time you read the bible, consider that you are reading a love letter from a loving God to you personally, preserved through time because His desire is to share His amazing life with you.

Prayer

Dear Father, thank you for caring so much for me that you inspired the bible to be written as a love letter to me.

Amen
