Keeping Our Eyes On God

“For we have no might against this great company which comes against us. Nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You.”
2 Chronicles 20:12 (MKJV)

There are times when everything and everybody seems to be against us. What then is our best course of action? What better can we do than follow the example of King Jehoshaphat and Judah who looked to God. Keeping our eyes off the opposition (situations or people), and on God, seems a good place to start because, as verse 15 points out, “For the battle is not yours, but God’s.” And God is bigger than any individual, any multitude, or problem we may face.

Do, however, follow the instructions in verse 17, which say, “Set yourselves and stand, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not fear nor be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord will be with you.” If we take our position and stand without fear, with our eyes on God and anticipating victory, we will see God’s salvation in due time.

Prayer
Dear Father, We thank You that You are bigger than any giant we may face in this lifetime. Please give us courage as we take our position, standing in the expectancy of the victory, which we know we have in Jesus Christ.
Amen
