I Love To Tell The Story

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us…For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.”
Romans 5:8, 10 (NKJV)

One day as I was walking in our beautiful little garden, it dawned on me that it was in the Garden of Eden God’s story began to unfold.  The story, originally conceived in the mind of God, is a story about mankind. I am writing this story because every one should know about it, and if you know about it, tell it to someone who has not heard it.

It was God who planted the Garden of Eden and put Adam and Eve, our first parents, in it. They walked and talked with God and had a very close relationship with their Creator. What a wonderful, perfect beginning of the story—but they did not live happily ever after. In fact, they lost the fellowship of God and were cast out of the beautiful Garden of Eden because they sinned against their Creator.

The sad part of the story is that through their fall all humanity was cut off from God, because we all have sinned and none is righteous (Romans 3:10, 23). The good news is that God is restoring fallen humanity by reconciling the world unto Himself through His Son, Jesus (Romans 5:8-11).

The story does not end here, because every one will know about it in the future. And we can be sure of this because the scripture reveals that this earth will be filled with the knowledge of God as waters cover the seas (Isaiah 11:9). And Isaiah 51:3 says that the earth will be restored as the Garden of Eden.

As I meditate walking in my little beautiful garden, I realize I have the fellowship with the Father and His Son, and the privilege to call God, Abba Father (Romans 8:14-15).  There can be no greater or closer relationship than to have access to the throne of grace through Jesus Christ our High Priest (Hebrews 4:14-16). What more can we ask? The Godhead dwells in us! (1 Corinthians 6:19).

This story began thousands of years ago and the end is glorious. Adam and Eve were separated from God, but now we are reconciled through Jesus and have eternal life in him. So when you see a beautiful garden or walk in it, think of the Garden of Eden, where this story began to unfold. And this is the true story of mankind conceived originally in the mind of God and revealed to us in the pages of the Holy Bible.

Prayer
Heavenly, Creator God, thank you for the story preserved for us in Your Word, the Bible, which tells us that we can be reconciled to fellowship with you through the sacrifice of your Son and the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit.
Amen
