God is a Loving and Merciful God

“The LORD is loving and merciful, slow to become angry and full of constant love.  He is good to everyone and has compassion on all he made.”
Psalm 145:8-9 (GNT)

The scripture above shows God’s amazing love and patience.  He neither zaps us nor leaves us—ever.  His mercy is beyond words.

Verse 13 tells me, “…The LORD is faithful to his promises; he is merciful in all his acts.” God is a Being we can have great respect and admiration for.  In trials God has shown me that He keeps His promises.  I read on and verse 14 encourages, saying, “He helps those who are in trouble, he lifts those who have fallen.”  He never left me through the darkest days of my years of trials.  Even when it felt lonely, I realised I wasn’t on my own.  Instead, I felt that God held my hand and hugged me when I cried in despair.

Verse 18 goes on to say, “He is near to those who call to him, who call to him with sincerity.” Call out to God.  He promises if you call out to Him, He will answer.

I take great comfort in God’s Word.  Verse 19 says, “He supplies the needs of those who honour him; he hears their cries and saves them.”  I was under a black cloud but now because of God I am free to begin a new life.

Thank you, God, for being who you are—trustworthy, loyal and full of compassion and love.
