Here, There, Everywhere

“For in him we live, and move, and have our being;”
Acts 17:28 (KJV)

There is nowhere, truly nowhere, that we can go and where God isn’t.  As Psalm 139:7-12 (GW) puts it, “Where can I go to get away from your Spirit? Where can I run to get away from you? If I go up to heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in hell, you are there. If I climb upward on the rays of the morning sun or land on the most distant shore of the sea where the sun sets, even there your hand would guide me and your right hand would hold on to me. If I say, ‘Let the darkness hide me and let the light around me turn into night,’ even the darkness is not too dark for you. Night is as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.”

When we are in horrid situations, He’s there with us, in us, surrounding us, wrapping us up in Himself, in His love.

When we go somewhere frightening, He is ahead of us to welcome us; ahead of and clearing the way for us; beside us to walk with us, to bolster us; behind us to encourage us to take another step forward. He’s in us, holding our head up, our chin up and helping us to put our best foot forward, keeping us moving through the dark valley or tunnel. “Even though I walk through the dark valley of death, because you are with me, I fear no harm. Your rod and your staff give me courage.” (Psalm 23:4 GW) [My sister’s quip is that if you find yourself in death’s dark vale ~ keep walking:  Good advice!]

How wonderful! He lives in us while we go through such trials, so that He sees others through our eyes, listens to them through our ears, and speaks to them through our lips; operating His love from His base in our hearts. 

WE couldn’t do it, but He can, thankfully.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly, Wonderful Father, thank You for Jesus living in us through Your Spirit. It’s amazing how that happens and more amazing when we see You living and working through us. Always Your will be done. Thank You.
