You Are Beautiful

“For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”
Colossians 3:3 (NIV)

So many people, young and old, struggle with issues of self-esteem.  We look at others and accept society’s ideas of beauty and think ourselves too tall, too short, too fat, too slim, desire a certain face, bum and hair.  We accept society’s ideas of value and think wealth and brains are keys to ‘success.’

God says, “I don’t think the way you think. The way you work isn’t the way I work…For as the sky soars high above earth, so the way I work surpasses the way you work, and the way I think is beyond the way you think.” (Isaiah 55:8-10 MSG)  He sets the standards.

At our National Ladies Conference recently, one of the speakers showed a video where the two doors into a shopping mall were labelled ‘Beautiful’ and ‘Ordinary.’  It was profound to watch people stop and look, and then go through the ‘Ordinary’ door.

The header scripture says we are hidden with Christ in God.  If you hide in a box, people don’t see you, they see the box.  So to go through the ‘Ordinary’ door is an insult to God!  If we are hid in Christ, then the world should ‘see’ Jesus in you, and God therefore pronounces us all beautiful!

Prayer
May I show the world Jesus Christ when they look at me.
Amen
