‘Just Smile’

“But Jesus said, ‘Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’”

It was at a recent Church social that we attended, our Church’s Denominational President, Dr Joseph Tkach and his wife, Tammy, were over from the USA. There was a service before the social and they showed one of his video vlips, Speaking of Life), which are a free resource available on our denominational website (https://www.gci.org/spol).

After the service that preceeded the social, my daughter was with me and I was near Dr Tkach.  She said suddenly, “It’s that man!”  I was puzzled to see that she meant Dr Tkach.  Her face lit up and she went up to him saying, “It’s you—you were in the video we saw during the service.”  I just smiled with joy and thought it was just great—I guess for her it was like meeting a super star!

We all go through life and have our ups and downs, but a good key to a happy life is to smile and be thankful every day that you can smile.  Often just the smallest things can make you SMILE. Our children just make us smile, whatever the time or day.

I think if I had been around when Jesus walked the earth we would just smile and say how do you do—a huge smile.

We could say a smile a day keeps the doctor away!

Prayer
Great God, thank you that we can smile.  We smile daily and are thankful that we can.
