Transformed By Truth
“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.”
John 17:17 (NKJV)
Personally I can say I am transformed by the truth and sanctified by the truth. I no longer believe in the myths of Indian gods and goddesses, for that was my background of Hinduism.
God has enlightened my eyes through the Holy Spirit. Now for me there is only one true God—our Father in heaven and Lord Jesus my Saviour, though there be many lords and gods in this world. (1 Corinthians 8:5-6) Only truth can transform us. Spiritual growth is a process replacing lies by truth. Jesus said, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32)
I read what a Bible scholar wrote about the truth and was deeply impressed: “The Bible is far more than a doctrinal guidebook. God’s Word generates life, creates faith, produces change, frightens the devil, causes miracles, heals hurts, builds character, transforms circumstances, imparts joy, overcomes adversity, defeats temptations, infuses hope, releases power, cleanses our minds, brings things into being, and guarantees our future forever. We cannot live without the Word of God.” (Rick Warren in The Purpose Driven Life)
Personally I have been eating God’s Word for my spiritual nourishment, making it a daily delight. For His words are unlike any other words. In fact they are words of eternal life: they are spirit and life, says Jesus. I believe it, for I am transformed by it because I know my destiny. I am a child of God led by the Holy Spirit and God is my Abba Father. (Romans 8:14-15)
No more “Lord Krishna, Shiva, Rama, Ganesha,” holy cows, or many other thousands of gods and goddesses for me. Because God’s Word, Jesus Christ, the Truth, has transformed my life and called me to worship Him in Spirit and Truth. Here, no offence is meant to Hindu believers for I respect everyone.
May our God bless you also with deeper understanding as He has imparted His glorious truth to me. For I had no clue what the Bible was all about because I was blinded by the god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4). But I know now that the Holy Bible was inspired by God and it is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and for instruction in righteousness to equip us for His good works as it says in 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Let us live by every word of God and be renewed by the Spirit of God, that we present our bodies as living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God (Romans 12:1-2). For we are all transformed and sanctified by the Truth. Praise God Almighty.
Prayer
Holy Father in heaven, I thank You for Your Word, and pray that we live by it and draw closer to You. This is my humble request in Jesus Christ’s name.
Amen
