What Is Your DNA?

“But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His…But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
Romans 8:9, 11 (NKJV)

Human beings have leapt into scientific knowledge beyond our imagination. Mobile phones, computers, I pads, TVs, radios etc, are today’s means of communication. Even the children five or six years old are more capable of handling these gadgets than many of the older generation. Medical science has also advanced greatly, and through the modern technology they are able to find the identity of a person from their DNA, matching it with the nearest of the kin, for example, last years plane crash in the French Alps which took the lives of all on board the plane. From the remains of the body parts strewn all over the mountains, they are finding the identity of the passengers, so that the relatives of the victims of this tragic crash can be informed of their loved ones. What a sad and very painful scenario, but there is hope for all in Christ, our Saviour who died and rose again and is seated in His Father`s throne.

My Christian friends, do you know your identity? Does your DNA match with that of Jesus? Jesus Christ found His identity in the scriptures. He was God in the flesh, a human being like you and me, but was without sin. He Himself read the passage concerning His ministry. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor .He has sent Me to heal the broken hearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord…And He began to say to them, ‘Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” (Luke 4:18-19, 21). He performed mighty works because He knew His identity, which he revealed to His disciples. “And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He expounded to them  in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.” (Luke 24:27).

I too have found my identity in the scriptures. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved.” (Ephesians 1:3-6). Another scripture is found in 1 John 3:1-2: “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are  children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.”

I know whom I believe and what I believe—I believe in God and His Word. I am a new creation in Christ, as it says in Galatians 2:20. God is transforming us into the likeness of His Son: 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as  by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 3:18).

I am sure of my Spiritual DNA. My life is hidden in Christ. Are you sure of your DNA? If you are, let us be about our Father`s business.

Father in heaven, what a privilege to know you and the identity of who we are in Christ, revealed in your Word. Let all people come to know about it. That is my prayer in Jesus name.
