God Numbers The Hairs On Our Heads

“But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.”
Matthew 10:30 (NKJV)

Both men and women are adorned with the gift of hair on their heads, by God. When well groomed, it enhances the looks of a person, man or woman. I thank God I still have some hair on my head. During my youth I adopted various styles following the film stars or sports icons. Vanity of vanities, all is vanity! But now I have simple short cut, which suits me well.

Sad to say, we take it for granted, this wonderful gift of God, as we have with many other precious gifts freely given to us, like the air we breathe and the life giving oxygen that surrounds the earth. The main scripture, quoted above, opened my eyes to see this gift through the spiritual eyes of God, for I never thought of my every single hair being numbered by the Divine Designer who created us in His image and likeness. Occasionally I have referred to it to remind me the concern God has for me. However this scripture gives the true extent of the love of the Father for His children. If one hair falls, He is aware of it.

When we realise that God puts such great importance on one hair that falls, and there are innumerable hairs on our heads, we know how abundantly He loves us as His children. He loves us as He loved His Son, Jesus, as we read in John.17:23, “I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.”

Do I comprehend this unspeakable love of our Father in heaven, whose abode is in unapproachable light? It is impossible with my human mind, but I know whom I have believed and what I believe. The truth is that The Father loves me immensely, hence I am responding to love and adore and worship Him with all my heart and mind and being.

Even if I lose all of my hair as I get older, I know He has made me joint heir with His Son Jesus. “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” (Romans 8:16-17)

Our Father in heaven, I thank you for your great care and concern for your children and for your great love for us. I praise you and give thanks through the Lord Jesus.
