“I’m So Excited

“And the king will answer them, Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.’“
Matthew 25:40 (NRSV

When I think what God has done for me I get excited. God loved me so much that He called me out of my evil ways and gave me the chance to choose life rather than death. He sent His only begotten Son to pay the penalty for my sins. When I stop and think about it and how God must love me, I shout WOW. God loves me, “hallelujah!”

The sense of joy I feel influences what I do. On a regular basis as a church group we go out to sing at local care homes. During these visits I do get a bit excited because I know we are doing what God wants us to do. In singing the hymns to the residents we are also giving them a message from God. We can tell by their faces and their body language that many are happy that we are there. Some have shared that when they were younger they went to church, unfortunately, they can no longer go and this brings back pleasant memories. Sometimes they ask when we have finished singing if we can say a prayer.

When you help someone who may be less fortunate or in need I think God is well pleased. It also has a positive effect on the giver. Last Christmas time we were able to share a meal and give a gift to a lady. I share this to encourage us all that there are many opportunities to serve and see someone’s face light up when you do a good, God-inspired deed for them. It makes your heart melt. Again, I felt excited when I left her feeling happy.

Prayer
Father, truly you are good. As you bless us, help us to look for ways to share with others. In Jesusname.
Amen
