The Power Of Our Words

“Do all things without complaining and disputing.”
Philippians 2:14 (NKJV)

Complaining, grumbling words carry destructive power. They destroy the joy of the one doing the complaining and can also affect other people who have to listen to them. That is why God tells us not to do it!

Ephesians 4:32 says, “And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” When we are thankful and speak kind words, they carry positive power. They increase the joy of the one speaking them and also increase the joy of those who listen to them.

Death and Life are in the power of the tongue! King Solomon knew this and wrote in Proverbs 18:21 that, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

Let us all make sure that we always speak words of Life and not words of Death!!

Father, please help us to realize how important it is that we always aim to speak words of life to all who we meet.
