The name is taken from 1 John 1:1-4 (NIVUK), ‘That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched – this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.’
The ‘Word of life’ is Jesus Christ who being eternally present with the Father appeared in physical flesh and, in the power of the Holy Spirit, brought his Father’s love and grace so that we could have fellowship with the divine Trinity and with one another.
The entire Bible points to Jesus, who alone is ‘the way, the truth, and the life’ (John 14:6), and this site is an opportunity to focus on him, the ‘Word of life’, as we proclaim what has been seen and heard, and thereby makes our joy complete.
As members of Grace Communion International participate with Jesus in bringing God’s grace and love they share articles centred on Scripture and their experiences of Jesus, that shine a light in the daily lives of believers and declare our identity to be firmly and unmistakably in him.
We hope that you find these devotions inspiring and encouraging as they bring clarity and joy to your walk of faith in the name of Jesus and the unity of the triune God in a challenging world.
