Made In The Image Of God

“So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Genesis 1:27 (NKJV)

What an wholesome thing to comprehend that every man and woman were created in the image of God! You, me and every other person on this earth was created in the image of God!

God wants every person to fulfil the purpose for which they were created, which is to be part of His family for all eternity.  ALL who call on the name of Jesus will fulfil the purpose for which they were created!

In order for us to be able to fulfil that purpose the price of sin which is death had to be paid. The wonderful news is that the price has been paid by Jesus Christ. Jesus then lives His life through us so that we are able to love God and love each other, to treat others  with dignity and respect. To think kind thoughts,  to speak kind words and to do kind deeds.

We all stand before our God and will have to give an account of how we have treated others.  Matthew 25:40 tells us, “And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’”  What we always need to remember is that how we treat other people is how we treat Jesus!

God’s love for us is unconditional and our love for others should also be unconditional.  Jesus Christ is living His life through us and he’s building that kind of love in all of our lives. All we have to do is to surrender our lives to Him.

Prayer
Father, God, thank you for loving us, and for sending Jesus to pay the price of all our sins, so that we would receive the gift of the Holy Spirit to enable us to love others as You love us.
