Rock Of Ages
“…and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.”

Rocks and stones of various sizes falling to earth from space are an acknowledged fact. Using a mobile drilling rig converted into a test platform, scientists have recently retrieved samples from 1300 metres below the seabed in the Chicxulub Crater off the coast of Mexico. The crater at the site is believed to have been caused by the high speed impact of an object 18km across, initially producing a hole 100 km wide and 30km deep. This was not an isolated event as evidence of many meteorite impacts can be found around this planet.
On 15th February 2013, many people were injured by flying glass from shattered windows when a bolide (an extremely bright meteor) exploded over the Chelyabinsk region. Neither NASA, NORAD, nor anyone else, seems to have been aware of it until it was hurtling through the skies over Russia, causing injuries due to the supersonic shock wave shattering windows below. Stunning film footage and audio records were made. Reports of newly detected near-earth objects are quite common, but there seem to be no defensive measures that Earth’s governments can take.
Earlier, in 1908 a superbolide is thought to have exploded above the Stony Tunguska River in the Eastern Siberian Taiga, burning bright in the sky and producing sounds like artillery fire and thunder. No human casualties seem to have been documented, but the blast flattened an estimated 80 million trees across a vast area.
Interestingly, the Bible makes mention of rocks from space—Revelation 8:8-9 makes serious reading! And God graciously revealed to the prophet Daniel, King Nebuchadnezzar’s forgotten, disturbing dream about a great statue which was struck by a stone cut without hands and which broke it in pieces (Daniel 2). The interpretation of this dream showed this great rock to be Jesus Christ, the Rock cut without hands, the Chief Corner Stone, who will return and destroy the last of man’s systems, bringing, in its fullness, the long-awaited eternal kingdom of God of which He is the King. In comparison, even Chicxulub, the Tunguska event, and Chelyabinsk will pale into insignificance!
Prayer
Great God who declares the end from the beginning and makes it happen, we implore you to send your Son, Christ Jesus, back quickly to establish Your kingdom in its fullness, and to smash the last remnants of the image seen by Nebuchadnezzar and Daniel. Help us to build our house with deep foundations on The Eternal Rock–Christ Jesus, The King Of Kings.
