Never Give Up

“But he who endures to the end shall be saved.”
Matthew 24:13 (NKJV)

We who are followers of Jesus Christ are in a race and we all need to be determined that we are going to finish that race! 1 Corinthians 9:24 says “Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.”

We are saved by grace not by our own works, but because we are saved we are determined and inspired to do good works! The Holy Spirit is now in the process of transforming our carnal minds into spiritual minds and this takes time. When we receive the Holy Spirit we receive the mind of Christ, for the Holy Spirit is the mind of Jesus Christ. We read in 1 Corinthians 2:16, “’For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?’ But we have the mind of Christ.”

Every person who has ever made a great discovery or has had a great success in life have all suffered failures and set backs. But they all had one thing in common. They refused to give up. When they had a fall they refused to stay down, they always got up with renewed determination to press on to completion.

We all need to learn from their example—when we slip up and have a fall in our Christian walk we must always refuse to stay down. We need to always get up with renewed determination to press on to completion. When we do this, Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit will give us the strength that we need to endure to the end. “For it is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13)

Prayer
Please, God, help us to realize that we are all in a race and in order to win the prize we must endure to the end, through your Spirit in us.
