Where Is The Church Jesus Christ built?

“And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”
Matthew 16:18 (NKJV)

Christ, Himself, was the rock spoken of in 1 Corinthians 10:4, “and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.” He built the church upon the foundation of apostles and prophets, Himself being the corner Stone (Ephesians 2:18-20). The Apostle Paul called it the Church of God—to whom belongs the whole family in heaven and earth. “To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours” (1Corinthians 1:2).

On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was poured upon the disciples, and through their preaching 3000 were baptised (Acts 2:41). Today, “For by one Spirit we were all baptised into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one spirit” (1Corinthians 12:13). Christ is the head and we are the members of the body individually. As it says in Ephesians 1:22-23, “And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”

It is very, very clear from these scriptures that Christ is the Head of the Church, which is His Body and we are the members of it. Jesus said that the gates of Hades shall not prevail against his church, hence there has to be the church He built. He was not talking about the physical building, but a Spiritual church with many members who have the Spirit of Christ, who are led by the Spirit of God, and are called the sons of God (Romans 8:9, 14). And for me anyone who has the Spirit of Christ is my brother and my sister.

There are thousands of churches all over the world calling themselves Christians, but there is only one Church Jesus Christ built. As it says in Ephesians 4:3-6, “endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”

Where is the church Jesus built ? Read it in Matthew 18:20: “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

Prayer
Father in heaven, thank You for the Church Jesus built. Please bless the church by adding more members. I ask this in Jesus name.
Amen
